Shoes of Danube River (Budapest)
Budapest the Hungarian Capital, has 1,7 Million of inhabitants ( checking the 2005 census ). It’s the seventh city in size of the European Union.
In some point of this city, in the Danube bank, the visitor discovers the surprising image of a long row of shoes, as the people had left them there before throwing to the river. Really, this surprsing image is an artistic work, that tries to make remeber the savagery done while the second world war.
In this point, the juwes from Varvia Ghetho, were tied in pairs, and after shooting one of them, both were thrown out to the river. This row tries to make remeber this killed people, as they hadn’t disappear, as the shoes were waiting for their owner after thei bath session in the river..-
Thanks to Jose Luis for the pic.
