New headquarters for Regione Lombardia, Italy / Pei Cobb Fred and Partners
Lombardia county council (Italy) will be headquartered in Milan. The headquarters will be sited in an area called Garibaldi-Republica, where several sites were reassessed, as a result, a small cluster of high-rises are expected to grow there.

The building was designed by an american study called Pei Cob Fredd & Partners, it will be 160 metres high. The tower will be a accompanied by 3 sinusoidal-shaped buildings set up on a base. The 3 buildings will be interlaced with one another.

The building will help centralize the different branches the city council has, which are scattered throughout the city right now. Photovoltaic cells have been used to provide the building with its very own power resources.

The building is under construction , with the foundations stage already finished. It’s expected to be brought to completion by mid-2010.
