Urban F1 Circuit, Valencia (Spain)

Category: Urban planning

Valencia will hold in 2008 a Formula 1 grand prix, which will be played on an urban track, integrated into the city, especifically into the harbour area.

The course will run past the inner harbour dock and will be 5.47 Km long.

The development of the track will be followed by a thriving urban development of a residential area called “Grau”. The designers of such an urban development will be given most of the money the project will be carried out with. The area will have some removable facilities, such as detachable public parks and other special elements of street furniture.

One of the most valuable elements emerged from the project will be the spinning bridge that’ll be set up over the mouth of the river.

In the following plan you can see what the course of the formula 1 urban track of Valencia will be like.

The project will undoubtedly speed the transformation of this area of Valencia up. Nevertheless, information on the benefits and losses of this transformation being done and the circuit being used as catalyst is yet to come.
